Easter's Over...Now What?

Hello Reader,

Resurrection Sunday has come and gone and all the Easter festivities are over...although there is still a pile of candy on my kitchen counter taunting me on the daily. It can be easy to enjoy the holiday and then let it pass without thinking about what's next. We think Resurrection Sunday is the end of the story because Jesus conquered death...but it's not. There is so much more to the story...and there is so much work for us to do!

Jesus conquering death, hell, and the grave is just the highlight reel of what the story holds. Just in the New Testament, of the 27 books, 4 tell the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the final book tells us of His second coming and how the story ends, but there are 22 books which guide us on the in between.

The resurrection, and everything we just celebrated on Easter Sunday, is the guarantee that the second coming of Jesus will happen. But before He returns we have a lot of work to do.

There's a lot of hype and energy that goes into the Easter holiday, but the hype shouldn't end after we recover from our post church naps, stuffed Easter eggs, and full holiday tables. Because of the work of Jesus, and our assurance of His coming kingdom, we must be about the work of building the church, growing the kingdom, and doing everything we can to steward our talents well so we can give an account to the King when He calls for us.

Friend, what is God calling you to do for Him right now?

Has He put a burden on your heart to start serving in your local church? Go serve!

Has He given you a hunger for His Word? Join a Bible study!

Has He called you to be faithful steward in your home with your children and family? Serve them!

Has He called you to a position in the workforce where you can share with others about Him? Share!

Sometimes it can feel like the assignment God has for us is too big, or we aren't prepared. I get it. I feel that too. All the time actually. But what I do know is that you and I are only granted so much time in this world, and I want to use all of that time wisely.

As a way to help resource you on how you can grow in your faith and leave a legacy of faith in your family and community, I've partnered with my dear friend Katie Orr again this year and worked on the Enjoy God's Word 2026 Online Bible Conference. This year's theme is LEGACY, and I've had the distinct honor of working the back end of the conference this year coordinating speakers and sessions. I can tell you with extreme confidence I am thrilled about the theme and the study we get to do as we dive into the book of 2 Timothy and explore the Apostle Paul's final letter to his mentee, Timothy. The book is filled with so much we can apply to our lives today, which will help us take the excitement and passion we just experienced over Easter weekend and carry it forward in our lives as we leave a legacy of faith.

Right now you can get the early bird ticket price to the conference for $19 and it includes dozens of excellent Bible teachers (I've got 2 sessions in the conference) and session notes and resources for the book of 2 Timothy.

I hope you'll join me! It's a great time and such a great resource. Just click the link to learn more or scroll down and see more about the conference.

Let's not let the passion of Easter weekend fade away. Let's be encouraged and equip ourselves well to do the work of the Kingdom of God.

Father, may my passion for Your Kingdom increase as I go about doing the work You have assigned me. Help me on hard days, grant me encouragement when I need it and equip me through Your Word for the work You have for me. In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Spirit I pray, amen.

In His Grace,

Hello Reader, I love the month of April. The weather here in Florida is cool in the mornings and toasty in the afternoons. It's like winter is releasing and summer is seeking to make its arrival. April is the perfect in-between month. You're winding down on school things, not yet finished, but you know summer is around the corner. You're out of winter (well most of us are!) and waiting for the next season. A lot of my life right now feels pinned in the in-between. We are holding on to "lasts"...

Hello Reader, Summer time has hit us hard already here in SW Florida. The scorching sun and torrential storms have become a rhythm to our summer days. The downside to summer showers is that all the bugs and critters start seeking dry spaces. The other day I noticed a tiny little ant crawl across my counter. 🀨 Now one ant isn't so bad...but I've been around long enough to know that it's never just one ant. He might simply be the scout, and others are sure to follow. I watched the little guy,...

Hello Reader, I walked over to my laptop to sit on the sofa and craft this week's email, just as my phone beeped with a message from a friend serving as a missionary in Israel. Attacks whispered about earlier in the day were now executed. Images littered my screen as news outlets blasted what little bits of information they had. Words began to spin in my brain. All the ideas I had been stewing with all week for this email became jumbled up. Everywhere I turn there is some disaster, riot,...
